The Vumba Botanical Gardens and Reserve, located 32 kilometres from Mutare, are established on a portion of the farm formerly known as Manchester.


The Bvumba Mountains or Vumba Mountains, lie on the Zimbabwe-Mozambique border, approximately 25 km south east of Mutare.


The Mutarazi Falls, located in Mutasa district, Zimbabwe Mutarazi Falls, at 762 meters, is the highest in Zimbabwe, second highest in Africa and 17th highest in the World.


Chimanimani National Park, is a place of unrivalled rugged mountain grandeur. 148 km south of Mutare is the spectacular Chimanimani range of mountains that form the Chimanimani National Park.


Cecil Kop and Thompson’s Vlei Nature Reserve, the nature reserve is located 3 kilometres from the city centre of Mutare. Animals that you will see include elephant, zebra, wildebeest and a wide variety of antelope.


Murahwa’s Hill National Trust nature reserve, Situated below Christmas pass has evidence of early settlement from which artefacts have been taken to the Mutare Museum. A steep path leads from the old Christmas Pass road, a more gentle path leads from near the showgrounds on Magamba Drive, 4 km from the city. The hill is home to rare birds, trees and butterflies.
